The COSS plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of construction sites and railway projects. You will be responsible for supervising and coordinating safety measures to safeguard the well-being of our employees, contractors, and the public. This role involves collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and safety teams to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
– Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments on construction sites.
– Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
– Ensure compliance with all railway and construction safety regulations.
– Provide guidance and training to site personnel on safety practices.
– Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks.
– Investigate accidents and incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
– Collaborate with project managers to establish safe work methods and schedules.
– Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
– Review construction plans and identify potential safety hazards.
– Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
– Stay up-to-date with industry safety standards and regulations.
– Proven experience as a COSS for atleast 1 year.
– A valid COSS certification.
– Knowledge of railway safety regulations and standards (e.g., Network Rail standards).
– Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols.
– Excellent communication and leadership skills.
– Ability to conduct safety training and deliver safety briefings.
– Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
– Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in emergency situations.
– Familiarity with safety management software and tools.
